Principles for the next architecture

Six foundational principles that guide OpenNexus architecture and design philosophy.

The Six Principles

Composability, Observability, Discoverability, Resilience, and two more that complete the constitution. Every design decision in OpenNexus traces back to one of these six. They are not guidelines — they are the architectural DNA of the system.

Why Principles Matter

Architecture without principles is just accumulation. Explicit principles create coherence across teams, timeframes, and technology choices. They are the language through which the system explains itself to its builders.

Architecture As Language

When principles are explicit and shared, architecture becomes a language. Teams discuss trade-offs in terms of principles. Decisions become traceable. The evolution of the system becomes a conversation guided by its own constitution.
